Financial Management Training
Under the patronage of His Excellency Eng Bakr Al Abadi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs (MoPPA), the ‘EU Support to Jordanian Democratic Institutions & Development, EU-JDID’ Project, in cooperation with the Ministry of Parliamentary and Political Affairs (MoPPA) conducted a two-day workshop on Financial Management on the 16th & 17th of April. MoPPA staff and Financial Managers of the Political Parties received the workshops by t local expert and trainer Mr. Suleiman Al-Otoum.
The workshop aimed to introduce the effective financial management skills based on international best practices, and to provide information and recommendations on the types of financial management techniques that are recommended to the Political Parties.
During the workshop, Mr Bilal Okasheh, Director of Companies Audit Directorate at the Audit Bureau provided the participants with an overview on financial monitoring and the role of the Audit Bureau in that regard. Therefore, he presented a summary of the Audit Bureau’s observations on ‘improper’ financial reporting mechanisms of political parties and the different ways to avoid them.
The participants were highly engaged in the training session and were involved in several activities on financial resources for political parties, finding alternatives and guaranteeing its sustainability.
