Mafraq Youth Seminar
Following the success of our first Youth Seminar held in Jerash in January 2019, EU-JDID’s Parliamentary Support component organized a similar event yesterday in Mafraq, with the support of the programme’s other components (political parties, elections and civil society) and under the umbrella of the European Centre for Electoral Support.
Around 50 young Jordanians aged between 16 and 25 years old from Mafraq Governorate discussed with MPs and Governorate Council Members the topic of “Challenges facing Youth Economic Participation: Poverty and Unemployment in Mafraq Governorate".
Organized in collaboration with the Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee and Mafraq Governorate, the activity seeks to engage young people on policy issues of national and local importance, creating a platform for dialogue and information sharing between young people and the officials elected to represent them.
This event comes as part of the efforts of the EU-JDID’s Parliamentary Support Component and Westminster Foundation for Democracy, working to support and strengthen Jordan's HoR .
