EU-JDID launched the process that supports the strengthening of parliamentary blocs in the Jordanian House of Representatives.
During the launch seminar, parliamentary and political party experts delivered a workshop for the Parliamentary Blocs and Coalitions Directorate and Civil Society Directorate, the Political Parties Department at House of Representatives, with also participation of colleagues from the Political Parties Directorate of the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs.
The workshop focused on the functions and tasks of parliamentary staff in supporting parliamentary blocs and groups.
Participants explored comparative practices from European and regional parliaments, and discussed applicability of these practices in Jordanian parliament.
The development of parliamentary blocs and political parties represent cornerstones of transforming the political system in Jordan into a genuine parliamentary system, in accordance with His Majesty’s vision.
