The Stakeholders’ Roundtable on Increasing Women’s Political Participation and Inclusion in Nigeria took place on November 25, 2019 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. The one-day Roundtable attracted Legislators from the National Assembly, State Assemblies and Local Governments. In attendance were, Senator Betty Apiafi, Senator Biodun Olujimi, Hon. Taiwo Oluga (Chairman, Committee on Women in Parliament), Hon Oluwole Oke (Chairman, House of Reps Committee on Public Accounts), Hon. Nkem Uzoma Abonta, Hon Aisha Duku, Chief (Mrs) Kemi Nelson (South-West women leader), Hon. Moji Alli-Macaulay (Lagos State House of Assembly), Hon Abiola-Jimoh (Osun State House of Assembly) and many others. The meeting ended with a resolution to advocate for legislations to ensure the observance of quota system to allow more women into the political space.
