The Chairman of the National Peace Committee, received in audience today (22 January 2022), the new European Union Ambassador to Nigeria

The Chairman of the National Peace Committee, His Excellency, General Abdulsalami A. Abubakar, GCFR, received in audience today (22 January 2022) the new European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Her Excellency, Samuela Isopi, at his private residence in Maitama, Abuja. Both parties discussed strategies for deepening the relationship between the European Union delegation and the National Peace Committee in facilitating peaceful elections and transition in 2023. General Abdulsalami clearly identified and articulated key areas that Development Partners such as the European Union should pay attention to; areas such as support for political parties, strategies for inclusion of women and people with disability in the political process, placing a cap on financial expenses for politicians and political parties as well as ensuring a citizen/voter friendly Electoral Reform Process.
