PEV LEAD Training for Federal Police

The European Center for Electoral Support is delivering a Leadership and Conflict Management Skills for Electoral Stakeholders – LEAD workshop for Federal Police Officers in two rounds of 2-day trainings as part of the PEV-Ethiopia project, fully funded by the European Union.

On November 9, 2021, the first set of trainings began at the Hub Hotel in Addis Ababa, with 45 Federal Police leaders of different departments in attendance. The primary objective of the LEAD workshop for Federal Police leaders is to enhance the leadership skills of the federal police in the electoral security reform in the post-election period in terms of legal and institutional changes; thereby contributing to the mitigation and management of potential electoral violence in Ethiopia's upcoming electoral activities.

This action also aims to enhance the skill of the Federal Police for alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to resolve election-related conflicts, such as negotiation, reconciliation, and mediation.
