LEAD Training for Senior Leaders of the Interreligious Council in Addis Ababa

October 13-14, the European Centre for Electoral Support – ECES through its PEV- Ethiopia Project fully funded by the European Union; held a 2-day Training for members of  the Interreligious Council at the Hub Hotel in Addis Ababa.

Participants were drawn from new representatives of the Inter-religious Council of Addis Ababa & Ethiopia, who work on electoral issues. They spent the first day exploring leadership essentials and  various topics. The second day of training consisted of Election specific topics such as a review of the electoral cycle, the legal framework of the electoral cycle and strategies for post-electoral conflict management. Allowing the participants to gain a wholistic insight into the roles they play both within an electoral cycle and in the process of building a strong democratic culture. 

The LEAD program is built around the core values of inclusiveness and the exchange of specific experience and knowledge between electoral stakeholders. LEAD is designed for representatives of Electoral Management Bodies, civil society, NGOs, political parties, bodies entrusted with electoral justice, academics, security forces, the media and media regulatory bodies.
