Training on Early Warning System for Regional Focal Points

On May 20 -21, The European Centre for Electoral Support- ECES conducted an Early Warning System Training for regional focal points at the Hub hotel in Addis Ababa.

24 participants in total, were drawn from the nine regional states and two city administrations. Electoral Violence&/conflict monitoring and documentation, Rapid Response, Understanding the Early Warning Early Response and security were among the topics discussed. 

This activity, in line with the Prevention, Mitigation and Management of Election related conflicts and potential violence in Ethiopia – PEV Ethiopia project fully funded by the European Union, aims to; Capacitate NSA to plug into, coordinate and utilize existing early warning networks, support non-state actors by bringing together organisations working towards inclusiveness, tolerance and peace at the grassroots, regional and national level.
