The “Establishing an environment for inclusive, knowledge-based dialogue on the political process in Ethiopia” programme has been developed in response to the rapidly evolving political situation in Ethiopia. The project is scheduled to last for 18 months, beginning in February 2019 and lasting until July 2020. The project presents an opportunity to support the Government of Ethiopia’s ongoing reform initiatives by establishing platforms for national stakeholders to engage in an informed and inclusive national dialogue process that can contribute to enhancing social cohesion, minimizing the risk of conflict and strengthening democracy and democratic institutions.

The activities of the programme have been designed taking into account the institutional experiences, good practices, and lessons learnt by the implementing partners in undertaking similar initiatives both in Ethiopia and globally. The programme approach is to work with a broad range of national stakeholders and foster inclusive dialogue by generating knowledge on key issues of national concern and establishing platforms for meaningful dialogue.
