Overall Objective

ECES understands the overall objective of the program is to foster more credible elections in Afghanistan by identifying and reducing integrity vulnerabilities through a broad and targeted involvement of election stakeholders as per their role and mandates.  ECES also understands the need to support the electoral process and Afghan democracy as a whole, looking for entry points and quick wins that can contribute to restoring the credibility and legitimacy of the electoral process.

Specific objectives

The following specific objectives have been prioritized:

• Electoral integrity vulnerabilities proactively identified and reduced by electoral stakeholders through training, planning, and actions.
• Increased capacity of electoral stakeholders for effective leadership and conflict management approaches to the conduct of elections and the adjudication of elections disputes
• The accountability and inclusiveness of the electoral process is strengthened through the broad participation of relevant stakeholders, with specific emphasis on women participation
