Marzia Meena is the Civil Society and Women Empowerment Expert for the ECES-PROSES Project. She is a native of Afghanistan, social reformer and an influential women’s rights activist. Since 2006, Ms. Meena has been an adviser for international and donor agencies. Her expertise, working background and focus on people collaboration have led her to a number of volunteer opportunities, leadership role and collectively nomination for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize in 2013 for her work to end violence and women’s rights. Prior to joining USAID Promote Musharikat, Ms. Meena worked as Consultant with Asian Development Bank Resident Mission Afghanistan, USAID and World Bank Group Afghanistan Country Office. Ms. Meena received her Bachelor of Art in Social Science at Kabul University and an Executive master’s in business administration specialized in Strategic Management at Learn Ever Academy of Sweden, 2014 -2015. Meena’s policy interests include advocacy, lobbying, women rights and networks. She speaks Dari and English.
