Professor Habu Galadima is the Director of Research at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, as well as the Chief Operating Officer of the NIPSS Political Parties and Policy Development Center. Joining the University of Jos in 1990 as Assistant Lecturer, he rose to become Reader in 2004 and full-fledged Professor of Political Science (International Relations and Strategic Studies) in 2009, University of Jos, Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D in International Relations and Strategic Studies. He was Head, Department of Defence and Security of the Directorate of Research, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (2012). He was Head, Department of Political Science, University of Jos (2008-2011). He was Deputy Director, Academic Planning Division, University of Jos, Nigeria (2007). He was Assistant Director, Defence and Security Studies, Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, the Presidency, Abuja (2004). He was Research fellow with the National Council on Intergovernmental Relations, Abuja (1993). His local and international exposures are clear, judging not only by his appearances as guest lecturer in many local and international bodies, but also for his experience as Consultant for many organisations such as the DFID, ECOWAS, and the UNDP to mention but a few. He has published widely, with over fifty publications in local and international journals. Professor Galadima is widely consulted locally and internationally on Political Science, federalism, international relations, policy development, strategic studies, security and peace studies. Happily married, Professor Galadima is blessed with three children.
