Olusegun Samuel is the Communication and Visibility Officer for the Institute for Media and Society IMS. He has worked as reporter as reporter; news editor and sports editor/analyst in both the print and electronic media for more than fifteen years. He started his journalism career in 2002 as a news reporter with CTL Cable TV in Port Harcourt. He later became news editor of Silverbird Communications, operators of Rhythm 93.7 and STV in Port Harcourt until 2017. He had earlier served as Deputy Head of News at Radio Port Harcourt (now Wave FM 91.7) from August 2011 to July 2014. He also had a stint with Treasure FM (FRCN) 98.5 in Port Harcourt in 2006.

In the course of professional duty, Segun has been actively involved in the coverage of national elections in Nigeria since 2013.

In 2013, he was a resident consultant on training of community volunteers and production of media content on a peace-building project coordinated by the IMS in Niger Delta communities.

Segun is a Mass Communication graduate with Higher National Diploma from the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta. He is pursuing a post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism.

He has attended important professional training programmes within and outside the Nigeria.
