A scholar, lecturer, researcher and consultant, Dr. Akeem Mojisola Adeyanju’s main focus is on strategic communication programme development, public policy analysis, research, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy and networking, and gender mainstreaming. His experience spreads over 21 years with many local, national and international organisations on programmes and projects concerning media research, development of strategic communication documents, research on girl-child education, women and youth development and child rights. He has worked both as researcher, evaluator, editor and consultant to organisations such as UNDP, UNICEF, BBC World Service, Action Aid Nigeria, Aid Foundation, Westminster Foundation for Democracy, and so on. This experience was built atop a wide range of educational accomplishments. After successfully completing secondary education in 1982, he proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a First Class Honours Degree in Mass Communication in 1998 and started with Ahmadu Bello University as a Graduate Assistant. He then got a Master’s degree in Political Science in 2001 and a PhD in Mass Communication from the University of Ibadan in 2010. Dr. Adeyanju is a man of wide exposure, with over 256 publications in local and international journals. He is currently an Associate Professor and the Head, Culture, Language and Media, Directorate of Research at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
