In March 2018, Jan joined the team as an HR expert and he will be involved in strategic planning, HR training and HR policy and coaching of the donor organisation’s HR.

He studied international law at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and European Studies at the University of West London. His first position was with the municipality of Rotterdam where he specialised in Dutch public law and civil servants’ law. In 2000, soon after his postdoctoral studies, he was appointed senior legal adviser at the HR-department of the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. In 2005, Jan continued his career at the House of Representatives of the Netherlands. First as senior legal advisor and lawyer to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives and in 2010 also as coordinator of HR-policy and deputy head of the HR department.
