Ms Svetislava Bulajic is the Research, Library and Legislative expert within the Parliamentary Component of the project. She has extensive knowledge about research and parliamentary practices and procedures.
From 1989 until 2014, she taught at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, specializing in Constitutional Law, Political Science and EU Law. All along, she has been engaged as an expert in academic institutions, international organizations and projects. Among others, she served as a Deputy Director for International Programs at the University of Connecticut School of Law (2011), worked at the World Bank’s MDTF (Multi-Donor Trust Fund) for Serbia’s Justice Sector Support Project (2008-2011), and was the OSCE Mission to Serbia Media Lawyer (2001-2005).
In recent years, she was affiliated with parliamentary work in various roles. She was an expert advisor to the Vice-president of the Serbian Parliament Constitutional Drafting Commission (2003-2004), member of the Serbian President expert team for drafting new Constitution (2005-2006), elected member of Serbian parliament (for the 2012-2014 term) and appointed the Secretary General of the National Assembly of Serbia (2016-2018). In these capacities, she got deeply involved in operation of Serbian parliament, as well as with the work and activities of PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe), PAM (Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean), PABSEC (Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation), and IPU (International Parliamentary Union). Inevitably, adding to her academic and professional knowledge, she gained practical experience in legislative processes and procedures, parliamentary committees, diplomacy, oversight, budget, research and Libraries.
Svetislava Bulajic holds master’s degree in Constitutional Law from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, LL.M from the University of Connecticut School of Law and is approved PhD candidate of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law.
